Man Accused Of Stalking Gets 5 Years' Probation
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A Buhl man charged with stalking a woman and her family was sentenced today.
In January, Robert Ekrut of Buhl was charged with three counts of second degree stalking. He also faced four charges of intimidating a witness. Last month, he pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor stalking and three counts of intimidating a witness.
Fifth District Judge Richard Bevan says, "It's going to stop. As of today, you'll be on probation. I'm ordering a five year probation. I want to make sure this is out of your mind, out of your life, and put away."
Bevan suspended Ekrut's prison sentence of two years fixed, up to five years total. The judge also insisted that the defendant abide by a no contact order regarding his four victims.
