Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A Twin Falls man will avoid jail time after being caught red-handed stealing copper wire.
Daniel Allen Jerke was sentenced Monday on charges of grand theft and attempted grand theft.
The judge ordered seven to ten years in prison with three years determinant.
The judge then suspended his sentence and gave him three years probation.
Jerke was caught back in March after police noticed a hole cut in a fence at an Idaho Power substation.
Police found wire cutters and 16 hundred dollars worth of copper wire.
Three other people were arrested for their involvement in the copper thefts, as well.
