Matt Ostrander passed away in a car accident in late July, but on this crisp fall day in September, his memory lived on.
Watco companies hosted a fundraiser in his honor.
Says Morgan Ruggles, a Watco employee who helped put on the event, "We've gotten a lot of donations from everyone. The whole entire Twin Falls community really put in."
Co-worker Jenna Harvey agrees, "we have had a lot of support from the community. We've had a lot of corporate business donate and a lot of local businesses."
The day was a way of celebrating his life and an opportunity a way to remember the happier times.
Says Ruggles, “we're really close to the family's father. We know that they need help and they’re a really awesome family to use the help and they deserve it a lot.”
Says Harvey, “we have bounce houses and train rides for the kids. We have lunch and live entertainment and raffles and a silent auction so I think it will be really fun.”
Proceeds will go to Ostrander’s wife and their two children.
This includes paying for her nursing school.
Says Harvey, "we wanted to make sure that the family was going to be okay with a fundraiser for them but she was really happy for this and so thankful and they really deserve it.”
For those who couldn't attend the memorial fundraiser but would still like to help, donations can be made to the Matt Ostrander Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
