Memorial Garden in Honor of Neoma Shouse

By Brandon Redmond

Filer, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - Neoma Shouse was the manager of the Twin Falls County Fair for 22 years.

Up until last year she continued to volunteer dozens of hours at the fairgrounds and more specifically in the floral department. Shouse passed away in January of this year but her love for flowers and her legacy lives on. The Castleford petal pals constructed a memorial garden in memory of Shouse.

JoAnn Robbins, the Floral Manager of the Twin Falls County Fair, told us why one of the Floral groups felt so compelled to "The Petal Pals in Castleford decided that because Neoma had been such a wonderful influence in the floral department, that they would devote one of their booths to a memory of her garden and you can see it won best of show and best of class in the this division."

The Memorial Garden is still on display in the flower building during the twin falls county fair. One of Shouse's most well known and longest lasting projects was planting 100 red roses along the fence south of the fair office. Her family explains this was for everyone driving down Fair Avenue to enjoy.
