Minidoka District Announces Hire Of New Superintendent

Rupert, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - The Minidoka County School District have a new superintendent. Dr. Kenneth Cox of Vernonia, Oregon will take over effective July 1, 2014, according to the district. Currently he is the superintendent for the Vernonia Oregon schools. In a news release issued this Tuesday morning, the district said, “Dr. Cox brings a wealth of leadership and expertise and the Board is excited to have him become a part of our district. He will be instrumental in continuing the great things happening in Minidoka County."

Dr. Cox received his Ph.D in K-12 Education Administration in 2006 from Capella University, which was preceded by a Masters in Educational technology leadership from the George Washington University in Washington D.C. He graduated from Washington State University in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and taught in Washington for five years before moving to Oregon in 1983.
