Minidoka Memorial Recognizes Safety At Bike Event
Rupert, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Safety was the name of the game at Minidoka Memorial Hospital Wednesday morning.
Approximately 350 children turned out for the 13th annual Bike Safety event.
Children also decorated their bicycles with garland and have the opportunity to ride in Rupert's Fourth of July Parade on Thursday.
Events like these illustrate how Minidoka Memorial gives back.
"We want them to wear their helmets. We're become the helmet central here in Mini–Cassia. It's our pleasure to do it. It's a great community event and it's funded by our hospital employees which is a big plus for not only the community, but our hospital in general," adds Joel Rogers, Chief Operating Officer, Minidoka Memorial Hospital.
Over the years, the hospital has handed out more than 1,800 helmets including bike, batting and for equestrian purposes. The hospital donated $750 to the 4-H to buy equestrian helmets for horse riders at the county fair this year.
