Rupert, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Minidoka County Sheriff Eric Snarr said Monday morning that he wants to continue being the Sheriff for the County. In a news release, Snarr said, “I filed my candidacy paperwork this morning with the recorder's office. I'm running on the Republican ticket seeking your vote as your Minidoka County Sheriff. Since I've been appointed as your sheriff I have accomplished a lot in the past seven months.
The morale within the office continues to improve and we are working as a team to earn your trust back each day.

Snarr said that there is a huge problem with drugs in the county. “I have my task force and other cooperating law enforcement agencies working on this drug problem. Drug use leads to many other crimes that plague our neighborhoods. Some of these crimes are
burglaries, thefts, and other types of abuse. As a county we need to offer programs and
opportunities to rehabilitate those who are addicted to drugs. Leading a drug free life
will allow those to be a productive member of society. I know that I will not be able to
eliminate all of the drugs off the streets but I will keep working on this issue.”
