Minidoka Students, Teachers Rave About Lunch Program
Paul, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Recently we told you about a pilot school lunch program in the Rupert area. The goals was to serve as many Idaho products as possible in the lunch room.
The biggest hit was produced by B & D Fingersteaks from Boise.
Food Service Supervisor Phyllis Bean says, "Oh, they loved it. Yes, fingersteak, they said we could have it every week, the kids did, and that they love it. It is going to be on our rotating menu cycle."
Minidoka was one of eight school districts that took part in the pilot program.
Now the stories of what worked, and what didn't will be collected in a booklet. That booklet will be sent out to school districts all over the state to help them plan school lunch menus for next year.
