More Flooding Hits Twin Falls And Surrounding Area

By Joey Martin

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A severe thunderstorm ripped through Twin Falls County at around 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon.

And now residents are working to assess the damage and pick up the debris.

Areas around Twin Falls experienced localized flooding and city and county workers scrambled to maintain order.

Some spots even saw hail measuring more than the size of a quarter.

On Kimberly Road, the Twin Falls Police Department had to close of portions of both outside lanes due to flooding.

Grand view Drive off of Addison also saw significant water runoff.

With that amount of precipitation at one time, the city's water collection and storm water systems were overwhelmed for a short time.

But according to city officials, the systems did their job of diverting the water.

Localized flooding still might persist in intersections and on the sides of roads.

Officials are asking residents to avoid driving through any large puddles and to reduce their speed when the road is excessively wet.

Our weather team is anticipating more showers this evening, stay tuned to KMVT for the latest.
