National Boy Scout Month
JEROME, ID (KMVT-TV) - This February is national Boy Scout month. And this year is turning one hundred and one.
To celebrate national Boy Scout month, the Jerome County Museum has set a special exhibit dedicated to the history of scouting in America. The exhibit features over 100 pieces from Cub Scout handbooks, to awards and badges. And even a vary rare uniform worn by a chapter of the Boy Scouts that no longer exists… the Air Scouts. “We have a new set up of Boy Scout display that started on the 1st. since there are so many Boy Scout troop here in town I just figured that it was time to put up a display. The gentlemen in blue over there is an Air scout and that was only from 1941 to 49.” Said Museum Curator Pam Roberson The Scouting Exhibit will be up for the next 6 months. So you still have plenty of time to stop in. The Museum is open Thursdays through Saturdays from 1 to 4. And after April 1st, the museums hours will double, with doors open Tuesday through Saturday... 1 to 5. Comments ( |
