TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Sunday marks the start of National Burn Awareness Week.

Page Geske, the Executive Director of Safe Kids Magic Valley recently asked local pediatricians about what type of injuries they've seen lately.

Geske says a number of them are burns of toddlers.

She says everything from burns in the kitchen to scalding soup.

Geske says, "also, maybe something like an electrical burn, maybe there's a paper clip on the ground and they stick it in a socket, that obviously is going to cause an electrical burn so it's really important to keep little ones away from areas that will cause an accident like that."

Safe Kids advises keeping kids at least three feet from hot appliances, pots, pans or food.

And always tuck cords from appliances where children can't reach them.
