National Reading Day Over At Xavier

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) This Wednesday Students at Xavier Charter School in Twin Falls, along with thousands of other school from across the country, took part in the National Reading Day celebration.

National Reading Days is an annual event which celebrates and encourages reading by younger children.

The nationwide reading program is designed to help kindergarten through 4th grade students develop the necessary literacy foundation they will need to become lifelong learners.

“Were having parents, the mayor came in. a giant teddy bear, the chick-fil-a cow are also coming in and reading with the children. Some of the parents are having the kids read with them just to recognize today as National Reading Day.” Said PFA Vice President Paula Hatch.
