National School Counseling Week

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) February 4th through the 8th is National High School Counseling Week across the country.

And here on a local level a few counselors over at Canyon Ridge High School were honored for what they do on a daily basis.

Across the country counselors of all kinds are being honors in different ways to celebrate their very own week.

And it was the same story over at Canyon Ridge as counselors Mr. Fowler, Mrs. Draves and Mrs. Pehrson were honored by their co–workers with a special cake to show their appreciation.

“It’s certainly an honor to be a counselor to begin with. Working with young people it’s an honor and it’s something that all of us have a calling to do. It’s just; you know… it makes you realize that you have an important job and that you can be recognized for the difference you make in a student’s life.” Said Canyon Ridge High School Counselor Don Folwer.

If you would like to honor your school counselors, the American School Counselors Association has a few tips on their website that you can follow.
