SUN VALLEY, Id (KMVT-TV) National Ski Safety Week kicks off Monday and the Sun Valley Resort is taking this opportunity to educate skiers.

This week, ski patrol will be all over the mountain talking to skiers and answering questions they might have.

Some of the main issues the ski patrol would like to focus on are skier safety and avalanche safety.

The ski patrol will also hand out skier safety cards, highlighting all of the rules and regulations of the mountain that everyone should know.

Plus, you can catch special events and activities each day to demonstrate skier safety on both bald and dollar mountain.

Rich Bauer, Sun Valley Ski Patrol says, "yeah, we are just raising people's awareness on safe practices out here on the ski hill, on the side country. We want people to have the best experience up here. And typically if people are safe there going to have more fun."
