New Breast Cancer Awareness Program Coming To Jerome County

By KMVT News

Jerome County, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A new breast cancer awareness program is being implemented in Jerome County.

The South Central Public Health District is implementing an "Ask Me" program. The program aims to inform women about getting mammograms.

They're in need of volunteer partners.

These individuals wear "Ask Me" buttons or aprons that invite people to ask how to get a free mammogram.

This program kicked off in Twin Falls County last year.

It's now expanding to Jerome.

"Any increase that we see is a huge impact. If we get that mammogram early, it's treatable," explains Melanie Gonzales, St. Luke’s MSTI.

For more information on how to volunteer, call Susie Beem at 737-5946.
