New Dog Park Coming Soon To Twin Falls
Twin Falls,Idaho (KMVT-KSVT)
Construction has begun and the city of Twin Falls is one step closer to completion of Baxter’s Park.
Fencing is now surrounding the 2 acre park.
The park and recreation's goal is to get a paved parking lot and bathrooms.
They are expected to have the park completed by July of 2014.
Dennis Bowyer of the Twin Falls city parks and recreation thinks that adding a dog park will help residents who have dog find a place to help exercise their pets legally.
“Really it allows the community if you're a dog owner and maybe you have a small yard or you just live in and apartment where do you take your dog to really run free. You know I know a lot of people go out from the North side of the canyon and run out there but here actually now legally you can let your dog off the leash and he or she can have some exercise.”
Harmon Park, which was the temporary dog park, is now closed to pets.
That park is now being used for recreational sports.
