New Emergency Notification System To Alert The Magic Valley

Tools

By Brandon Redmond

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A new emergency notification system will help keep residents aware of dangerous situations across the magic valley. Following last summer's wildfires, SIRCOMM and the departments they dispatch for recognized the need for a mass alert system.

The new Everbridge emergency notification system will offer the citizens of Gooding, Jerome, Lincoln and Twin Falls counties the opportunity to be notified of emergencies. People will be able to register cell phones, home phones and even email addresses.

The system is expected to be implemented this summer. SIRCOMM plans to use the system to send our emergency and community alerts and notifications. Severe weather alerts will also be sent out as part of the new system.

A website will be announced when the system is up and running so that residents can register their devices.
