New LDS Meetinghouse Open For Viewing
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is inviting the public to view the newly constructed North Point Meetinghouse.
Construction began on the 1900 square foot building in March of last year.
The building consists of a chapel, 17 classrooms, and three offices.
It has the capacity to hold 1200 members and three different congregations.
Stake President of Twin Falls, Randy Hansen, explains the need for the new meetinghouse.
"Well the demand, the growth of the church is so fast that we're dedicating about 300 chapels a day in the world, just under 400 thousand people joined the church last year,” he says.
An open house will be held Saturday, with tours running from two to seven in the evening.
The meetinghouse will be fully operational after it is dedicated on June 1st.
