New Tourist Information Center Coming To Twin Falls

By Brittany Cooper

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Out with the old, in with the new, as the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce has sights on a new location.

Construction will begin this spring on a new Tourist Information Center along the canyon rim.

The building will replace the current visitor center and bathrooms. During construction, you can expect to see a temporary facility in the parking lot.

Once completed, the center will feature the Chamber of Commerce offices, Southern Idaho Tourism, plus much more.

"We need to become more modern with a more functional facility so the New Tourist Information Center will combine the gift shop function that we have now, an expanded interpretative space to talk about the history and culture of the area, recreational opportunities and will also house our chamber offices so we're able to keep that facility open year round," adds Shawn Barigar, President and CEO, Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce.

Barigar says they're in the position now to finalize the plans, get construction underway and look for community contributions.

He expects the project to be complete by the end of summer.
