New murals painted on old towne Twin Falls grain silos
The three grain silos near the Depot Grill in old towne Twin Falls are more than a hundred years old. A local effort to preserve the silos as historic structures is slowly making headway.
The Twin Falls Historic Preservation Commission is repainting the silos.
There were a total of four murals on those old towne grain elevators - but three of them have faded away.
That's why Preservation Twin Falls repainted two new murals on the Shoshone Street side.
The silos needed to be pressure washed and power brushed, then primer and a white base coat of paint needed to be applied, followed by 80 hours of hand painting.
