Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) A local middle school is trying to help students overcome the cold this winter.

O'Leary Middle School is holding a coat drive for a few weeks.

Students from the Kindness Club came up with the idea and when students are in need of a coat, O'Leary contacts the Optimist Club.

The service organization distributes the coats to kids in need.

Gloves and mittens are also welcomed.

"We figure with it being so cold this year, that they're probably running low on coats and so the kids said, 'why don't we do kind coats, so we said ok," says Griselda Escobedo, a school counselor.

The coat drive wraps up on Valentines Day.
