Obama Administration Proposing Wolf Lift Protections
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Obama administration is proposing to end recovery efforts for gray wolves across most of the U.S.
This would return management to the states.
The announcement comes after wolves rebounded from widespread extermination during four decades on the endangered species list.
The Idaho department of Fish and Game believes this is a step forward for the gem state.
"In Idaho wolves have been enlisted since 2009 and were very supportive of that and very much want to manage wolves here in Idaho. We need to manage wolves in Idaho” said Jerome Hansen, Idaho Fish and Game.
Hansen says, wolves have an impact on livestock and big game species.
