Operation Facelift Comes To An End
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - With this year's Operation Facelift coming to an end just a few weeks ago, this Monday it was the time for the judges to go out and pick their winners from each participating city.
All day Monday and continuing into Tuesday representatives from the Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization and the Southern Idaho Rural Development made their way through each of the 10 Southern Idaho cities that took part in this year's facelift. In each city, both organizations toured and then rated all of the buildings looking to see what building or business saw the most improvement. And this year KMVT decided to take a much more hands on approach with the winners. For each winner, from all 10 cities, KMVT has pledged a thousand dollar media prize for those winners. That prize includes the production of an on–air advertisement that will air on KMVT the CW and the new FOX 14. "And a lot of these owners don't have a great deal of money to be paying for advertising and so on. So it's a great thing for them and again for us to be able to offer that to our smaller cities." Said Larry Hall the Coordinator for Southern Idaho Rural Development. Monday the group toured 6 of the participating 10 cities including Twin Falls, Burley, Rupert, Paul, Kimberly and Filer. Then on Tuesday the group will start off in Jerome and will make its way out to Wendell then Gooding and will finish up out in Glenn's Ferry. After the judges make their decision the final announcement of the winners will be released in a full page spread in the local Times News. Comments ( |
