Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) With the spirit of Thanksgiving in the air, one Twin Falls Church decided to take a hands on approach in making sure that nobody went hungry for Thanksgiving dinner.
New Hope Christian Fellowship opened their doors this Thursday with the goal of feeding well over 300 people for their 5th annual Operation Thanksgiving Dinner.
Doors opened up at around 11 and within a few hours over 100 meals were already handed out.
Without donations from local businesses and organizations from all across the Magic Valley, New Hope Christian would have never had the chance to feed so many needy individuals.
“We had some many good, generous donations this year that, you know, it’s amazing. It’s very overwhelming the feeling you get from helping anybody out and feeding them on a day like today. It just makes you feel above and beyond any other feeling. It’s awesome! Thanks to everyone for their support.” Said Gary Butensehoun, Manager of the Food Bank.
By around 2 this afternoon the number of meals served reached to be over about 200.
With more and more people showing up all the time.
If you would like to learn more about the New Hope Christian Fellowship, their main church is located at 181 Morrison Street across from the old hospital.
