Painting the Town Purple to Raise Awareness

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) It's time to Paint the Town Purple in an effort to raise awareness about Relay for Life.

It's an event designed to raise money and awareness to support the American Cancer Society.

Paint the Town Purple starts Monday and runs through Friday.

Homes, businesses and other public places participate in the event each year.
D.L Evans Bank began decorating its building Monday, complete with purple water in its fountain.

“Last year we raised $221,000 out of the Magic Valley and the put into the Magic Valley about a million dollars," said Jessica Laraway, Executive Chair, Magic Valley Relay for Life.

Judging for the event will be held this Friday.

Winners go home with gift certificates.

Relay for Life takes place on May 17th at the Twin Falls Fair Grounds.
