Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT) - The Idaho Transportation Department is asking all Twin Falls drivers to avoid the construction area on Washington Street and North College Road Thursday night.

According to ITD Spokesman Nathan Jerke, be prepared for closures throughout the day. North College will be closed between Washington and Fillmore, starting at 7am; and the closure will remain throughout the evening while DEBCO crews work on the Washington – North College intersection.

Meanwhile, starting at 8pm Thursday, Washington will be closed to traffic between Falls Avenue and Cheney Drive; while North College will be closed between Blake Street and the College of Southern Idaho’s north entrance.

Jerke says that the closures will remain in effect until 7am Friday morning, and that drivers should use Blue Lake Boulevard.

Crews will be installing and re-locating underground pipes for the storm water system, as well as city water lines and conduit for the new traffic signal. Closure during the evening will allow crews to work more efficiently and safely, as they work to complete the $6.5 Million project.
