Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Contractors who work with the City of Twin Falls some changes are coming your way.
A new revised and simplified permit fee schedule will be implemented.
The building fees will depend on the type of project you're working on.
However, the city is changing how projects are valued.
Rather than the city calculating a value based on an outdated national average cost table.
The contractor will have to declare the value of the project.
"What we're going with now is declared values, we figure who knows the value of the construction rather the person doing the construction. If we calculate it we'll miss it. If they tell us what it is, we'll be right most of the time,” said Mitch Humble, City of Twin Falls.
The new permit fee schedule will go into effect July 1, 2013.
