Twin Falls Police officials are warning about phone calls being made from area code 616 or 646 being involved in a scam.
Officer Luke Allen says the callers say they represent an online lending agency and they need your bank account number to process an application.
The caller will have a social security number and date of birth, and will ask you to confirm that the information is correct.
If they're able to get this information – that will allow them to empty your bank account.
They have been calling using cell phones as well as land lines.
For more information you can call Officer Allen at 735–7358. As always a good rule of thumb is to never give out personal information such as your social security to anyone you don't know in person or over the phone.
