Pickup Found Upside Down In Cassia County Canal
Burley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Police are continuing to piece together the information that led to a vehicle that was found upside down in a Cassia County Canal. The dive team from the Cassia County Sheriff’s office didn’t find anyone inside the vehicle. According to a Sheriff Office report, the dive team, medical personnel and deputies all responded to 300 west 100 south in Cassia County at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. The pickup had landed on its top. Deputies were unable to make contact with the trucks owner, Jose Miranda-Romero. On Sunday morning, Miranda-Romero came into the sheriff’s office to report the pickup as stolen. The report by authorities indicate Miranda-Romero claims he had parked the vehicle in the backyard of his brother’s house with the keys in the ignition and hadn’t been driving it for the past four months because his license is currently suspended. The report goes on to say that the owner had been gone most of Saturday and didn’t notice the missing vehicle until the next day. The report says the pickup was not insured.
