It's Christmas come early for many skiers and snowboarders who took to the slopes in Albion this weekend.
The ski resort celebrated opening day on Friday, seeing a large turnout.

Skier Kevin Jesser notes, “it’s a beautiful day and we're just out here enjoying the opening season… it’s not even winter yet and we're already on the slopes… can’t complain one bit.”

This year Pomerelle celebrates its 50th birthday with tons of events planned to make this year special.

Barry Whiting, director of Snow Sports School, adds, “we're going to do some exciting things with that, a few torch light parades to commemorate our 50th birthday.”

Shelley Long-Fehlman, event coordinator, says, “our next event coming up is our Santa baby contest which is Christmas eve and if you come dressed as Santa head to toe you receive a free lift ticket for the day.”
January 5th will feature a free learn how to ski or board day for participants over the age of seven.
