Pomerelle enjoys near record setting season

By Jeff Gomske

Albion, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The season got off to a rocky start late last year, but Pomerelle Mountain has bounced back considerably.

Blessed with an abundance of snowfall nearly all season long, skiers have made the trek to take on the mountain.

Pomerelle is one of the best places in the state to go in order to learn how to ski.

It also sports some challenging runs for virtually any skill level, and people have been coming in near record numbers.

Today marked the second annual boxcar races with entries coming from as far away as Oregon and Colorado.

The next big event is coming up just a day before Pomerelle is scheduled to close for the season.

The 'Slush Cup Pond Skim' will be April 6th and usually draws large crowds.

The following day Pomerelle is tentatively planning on closing for the season.

You may be interested to know that they may still have some weekend skiing after that, weather permitting, of course.
