Twin Falls/Cassia County, Idaho (KMVT-TV) – A fast moving wild fire that is part of the Cave Canyon Fire is forcing evacuations in a portion of the South Hills. Roads leading into the area have been closed from the foot hills and Rock Creek Road. Authorities are evacuating residents and recreationalists in the Rock Creek Canyon and Dry Creek Road from Foot Hills South. That, according to an official from the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s office. A command post has been established at the Rock Creek General Store and the Disaster Services from Twin Falls will be coordinating with those families who have been displaced to find temporary shelter. One worker at the scene we talked to said that there are a maximum of 50 family homes that could be evacuated. Cassia and Twin Falls authorities are sweeping through all campgrounds and telling campers that they must leave the area immediately. At this time, KMVT news does not know of any structures that have been lost to the fire. KMVT News is following this developing story and we will have the latest as it becomes available.
