Primary Therapy Source Hosts Sensory Integration Education Meeting
TwinFalls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A community meeting was held this evening to educate parents and teachers on sensory integration.
For the past six years Primary Therapy Source has hosted this event during Occupational Therapy Month.
Many people deal with children with sensory integration and my not know how to handle it.
This meeting gives them the chance to ask questions and understand more so they can help.
Occupational therapist Ivan Hardcastle explains:
"Sensory integration, you have all these nerves that take in information all day long and they all go up into the brain and they combine and some of them we don't need and so we discard the ones we don't need and when we have hiccups in that system then we get difficulties in function."
