Pro-Life Organization Holds An Event In Twin Falls
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A worldwide movement to protect mothers and babies is coming to Twin Falls.
A group of locals plan to join together for 40 days to pray for an end to abortion. “40 days for life” is the largest internationally coordinated pro-life campaign around the world. More than 85-Magic Valley residents will take part in the help to save lives. "We gather together outside the Planned Parenthood and we pray for the end of abortion, since in the last ten consecutive campaigns there's been almost six thousand babies saved” said Carrie Hall Chairperson, 40 Days for Life. The group plans on fasting during the week long campaign to honor lost babies. "It's not a 40-day starvation, its more symbolic you could give up one meal in the honor of lost babies. Abortion kills babies and I think that they don't have an advocacy and so we go out there in hopes to advocate for them and we feel that all babies should be given life” said Carrie Hall Chairperson, 40 Days for Life. Some believe education is key to preventing unwanted pregnancies. "I think that's great that they want to pray however I think the most important thing is to educate people on how not to get pregnant. To me I think why not spend 40 days to educate young people on not just abstinence but on forms of birth control that can prevent them from being pregnant” said Jill Skeem Co-Host Top Story, 1310 AM. The organization plans to bring a positive pro-life message to the community. A community that everyone can decide for themselves which side of the issue they're on. “40 Days for Life” plans to begin praying and fasting Sunday September 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. located at 212 7th Ave east, Twin Falls.
