Protesters Demand Fair Drug Testing Procedures In Burley

By Paul Johnson

Burley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - A hunger strike is taking place this Monday in Burley. It begun around 10 am. One female and two males set up signs outside of the old cassia county court house.
They are protesting because they believe that the county has unlawful drug testing methods which could result in the Mini Cassia misdemeanor probation department tampering with samples.

Protester Ronald Kelsey said, "What we would like to see them do is start to follow correct chain of custody procedure."

Prosecuting attorney Alfred Barrus tells us Cassia County is already following the appropriate standards.
