Psychiatric Hospital Set To Open At County West
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) After two years of planning, Mountain View Center for Geriatric Psychiatry is set to open.
The hospital, located at Twin Falls County West is an extension of the facility in Kimberly.
There's already a 12 bed unit there, but now Mountain View is adding 29 beds at this new location.
With 17,000 square feet on the third floor, Mountain View Campus West is almost ready for business.
"If you're a Medicaid recipient in the geriatric psychiatric age, they're having to go to Boise or Blackfoot, Idaho falls, there's no where here that serves that population if they have the geriatric, and medical and that's where we specialize and so by adding these beds, it allows us to pick up that population," states Lewis Chandler, BLB Health Management.
Chuck Lloyd, Mountain View Center for Geriatric Psychiatry adds, "Mountain View in the preparation and planning of this facility, we thought of every type of hazard that could be a problem for a patient in a psychiatric hospital."
The hospital is scheduled to open on October 14th and will start admitting patients.
