Filer, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The 18–hour Relay for Life has come to a close at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds.
But not before raising crucial dollars for the American Cancer Society.
Some may not realize this, but the significance of doing it overnight and into the day is to parallel the roller coaster ride a cancer patient goes through during treatment.
The 23rd annual event was supported by numerous groups and sponsors in the community, including O'Leary Middle School. They raised more than $16,000.
"I'm just amazed at our kids who stepped forward and see this as a passion as well as our teachers," says an elated Annette McFarlin, a teacher.
If you missed out, don't worry, both Gooding and the Mini–Cassia community are hosting relay for life events in June.
