Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The three–day republican state convention came to an end Saturday.

Some of the highlights include the party electing a new State Party Chair.

Barry Peterson took over the position for Norm Semanko who decided early this year he would not run for re–election. Peterson is from Mountain Home and currently serves as the Elmore County Republican Party Chair as well as Region Three Chair.

They also voted on a new National Committeewoman. Cindy Siddoway, the wife of state senator Jeff Siddoway is taking on the role.
She replaced Cindy Moyle from Burley.

Overall, officials were pleased with the convention.

"We've had a wonderful representation of Republican delegates from all over the state. We registered about 600 people; we had all 500 delegates present at all three sessions. Had some lively debate on occasion," adds Steve Millington, Chair, Twin Falls County Republican Central Committee.

Jonathan Parker, the Executive Director of the Republican Party says they adopted a new platform as well as passed 11 resolutions.
Now the focus turns to the general election.
