Ribbon Cutting At Jerome Head Start Center
Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Today, the College of Southern Idaho held a ribbon cutting to officially dedicate their new Head Start Center in Jerome.
Ground was broken for the new center back in March. This building gets the whole Jerome Head Start program under one roof. Instead of using a big pair of scissors, the head start kids cut the ribbon with their own "safety scissors."
17 staff members are taking care of 88 children at the new facility, which opened earlier this fall.
Mike Mason, CSI Vice President of Administration, says, "It's brand new, it was designed from the ground up to be a Head Start Center. It’s a real investment in Jerome. We're excited to be over here and have one of our larger programs, with a decent facility, and a great place to serve kids."
Mason says the new Head Start Center was built on the former site of Lincoln Elementary School, which was built in 1910. He says it's good to see more education going on at this location now.
