Riding Horses In The Fight Against Cancer

By Brittany Cooper

Lake Walcott, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Locals saddled up their horses, riding against cancer.

Saturday marked the 2nd Annual Sage Brush Horse Back Trail Race.
Hosted by the Idahoan Foods Relay for Life Team, the event kicked off at Lake Walcott.

Around 25 riders came out Saturday and rode around the desert for about five hours with a lunch break. This event is all for a good cause, as funding goes to the American Cancer Society.

"This is a team event. The team members like to do the cooking. It's worked out last year where we raised $700 just from this event," adds Marlene Page, a team captain.

If you couldn't participate this year, there are a couple of ways you can still donate.

You can call Marlene Page here at (208) 532-4191 or visit www.cancer.org.
