Road work on Hwy 93 to begin on Monday

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT) - A highway preservation project on U.S. 93 in Shoshone, through Richfield is expected to begin on Monday.

Crews will begin placing an asphalt overlay, followed by a chip seal coat, designed to improve smoothness and longevity of the roadway.

The work will include the area between the Little Wood River Bridge south of Richfield and the Jim Byrne Slough Bridge north of the city.

Work is expected to be completed in mid-August.

U.S. 93 will be reduced to one lane, traffic will be piloted through the project while crews work.

Drivers should watch for flaggers and be prepared for delays of as much as 15 minutes.

Gordon Paving Incorporated of Twin Falls is the contractor for the 650-thousand dollar preservation project.
