New Details: Robbery Suspect Behind Bars in Twin Falls
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A man is behind bars after reportedly robbing a business in Twin Falls this morning.
Saturday morning, just before ten, Twin Falls police say a man entered this EZ Money Loans on Blue Lakes Boulevard North armed with a pellet gun.
"The employee and the customer that was in the store are truly kind of the unsung heroes for this," said Dan Heil, Crime Prevention Officer, Twin Falls Police Department.
Very little is known about what went on inside the store, but here's what we do know.
A woman walked into the store to get a loan and that's when an employee quickly wrote 9–1–1 on her hand and showed it to the woman.
"The customer then stepped outside and dialed 9-1–1 approximately around the same time the alarm was triggered, which assisted officers to get there and know that it wasn't just a false alarm,” said Heil.
During that time the man reportedly robbed the business and exited the store.
That's when police arrived on the scene.
"When officers arrived on scene he was walking away from the business, they approached him, and he complied with all order to surrender,” said Heil.
No one was hurt during the robbery and police believe it was an isolated incident.
Police say businesses such as this tend to be targeted more so than banks.
"These are even more of a target simply because there's not as much security,” said Heil.
The incident remains under investigation.
The man, whose identity has not been released, is being held in the Twin Falls County Jail.
