Robert Stuart Middle School Students Win App Challenge
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A group of students over at Robert Stuart Middle School claimed the top stop in the state of Idaho for the 2nd Annual Version Innovative App Challenge.
The challenge was to develop a concept of a mobile application that would solve a problem in their community or school.
By incorporating the stem principals... Or science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The group of five 7th graders’ winning concept was called Cell-istic, which helps students in identifying cell identification and interaction.
"It allows you to study cells... plant cells and animal cells. It gives you flat surface and you can click on what you want to study, like the nucleolus or the cell membrane and so forth. Then it brings up the definition and what it is," explains one of the members of the winning team.
The Robert Stuart group grabbed the top middle school spot in the state...
With Weiser High School taking the high school spot.
Next, both schools will move onto the regional competition....
If they win that it's off to nationals and a chance to take their concept and transform it into a reality.
