Kimberly, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Rock Creek Food Pantry is hoping to go weekly. But there is a lot that needs to happen in order to make it a reality.

That's why Saturday evening organizers held a fundraiser barbecue at the Crossroads United Methodist Church, or the pantry's current location.

As of now, the Idaho Food Bank brings a mobile drop of food month to Kimberly.

But officials say it's not enough.

They want a weekly food pantry to service the 15 mile radius from the city of Hansen.

It would supply food to 150 homes.

They are also looking for a building, specifically in the Kimberly area, as it's the central location.

The LDS stakehouse in Kimberly has volunteered to build or re–model the location.

"The Idaho Food Bank came up to us awhile back and asked us to try to form this pantry to get our community, people in our own community to step up and take care of our own in our community. They've been very generous with their monthly mobile drop here, but if communities can step up and take care of themselves, then there are other areas in the state the idaho food bank could move onto," says Robyn Moss, Chairwoman of the Rock Creek Food Pantry.

Moss says they're looking for board members, especially from areas such as Twin Falls, Hansen, Murtaugh and Hazelton.
