Memorial Garden Celebration Coming Up On Wednesday
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The St. Luke's Health Foundation is honoring individuals remembered in the hospital's rose garden.
Officials say there are 132 varieties of roses featured on the east end of the hospital. When the staff moved into the new hospital last year, so did the donor recognition. Now there are more opportunities to memorialize additional statuary. And this Wednesday you're invited to the McKain–Kinney Remembrance Rose Garden celebration. Plus, there's an interesting story behind the name. "We have two couples that socialized a lot; James Kinney and Mary Kinney and Dr. McCain and Barbara McCain. Over a period of time, one spouse in each couple passes away and Barbara McCain marries James Kinney. That's why it's called the McCain–Kinney Rose Garden. The two surviving spouses married and underwrote the costs of the Rose Garden," adds Larry Baxter, Executive Director The Rose Garden Celebration will be held this Wednesday at two p.m. If you don't know where the rose garden is, it's just east of the Mountain States Tumor Institute. Light refreshments will be served. Comments ( |
