Safe Kids Magic Valley on Britax recall
UNITED STATES A major car seat manufacturer made a recall announcement this week.
Britax Child Safety recalled more than 14–thousand car seats because the shoulder harness system might come apart. If the rivet breaks of is dislodged, the harness adjuster might detach from the seat, allowing the straps to loosen. Consumers started complaining about the issue in March of last year. And Britax made a manufacturing change to correct the defect about nine months ago. Page Geske, Executive Director of Safe Kids Magic Valley says, "you need to obviously register your car seat, it always comes with a card where you need to fill it out and send it in so in cases like this with britax, they have a way to track you down via email or calling you or sending you a letter saying hey, your car seat is on recall, it's not safe to use." The recall affects the Britax Chaperone Infant Car seats built from September 1, 2010 to May 1, 2011. The company says it's not aware of any injuries related to the problem. Comments ( |
