Sawtooth Brewing Company, A Place Like No Other

By Joey Martin

Ketchum , Idaho (KMVT-TV) A new micro–brewery in the Sun Valley area is celebrating their first full year of business under their belt.

So we wanted to check in with them and see how business is going.

The Sawtooth Brewing Company, which makes its home in Ketchum, first opened their doors a little before thanksgiving last year.

In the past year the small brewing operation and pub has slowly but steadily started to gain a foothold in a town known for its good bars.

But this isn't your average everyday bar.

The business is split into two different operations...

In the back is where the magic happens. There, employees work to craft around 5 different specially beers.

And up front is where all that hard work is put to the test.

"Our 5 year–round beers are all American Ales, so there's an ale versus a lager so it will have a little more flavor to them. That IPA is a nice hoppy beer. Our stout has a lot of chocolate and coffee flavors to it. Our amber ale has a caramel malt to it, gives it a nice flavor." Said Co-Owner of Sawtooth Brewing, Kevin Jones.

If you can't make it to the Sun Valley area, don't worry...

Almost all of Sawtooths hand crafted beers are on tap around southern Idaho.

If you're interested in checking out the Sawtooth Brewing Company, they are located at 600 Main Street North in Ketchum.

They are open 7 days a week, with doors opening at about 2 every afternoon.
