Scientists Look To Improve Scientific Data On Big Wood River Watershed

By KMVT News

Big Wood River, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey are working to improve scientific data on the Big Wood River Watershed.

Last week, the scientists installed water temperature sensors along the Big Wood River and tributaries.

They’re hoping the data will help with future restoration and assessing the effectiveness of treatment techniques.

Officials say water temperature is a key health indicator and data collections such as these are critical to the area.

The finding from the study will be released in fall of 2015.
