Scuba Divers Clean Bottom Of Dierkes Lake
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) About five dozen volunteers spent a good portion of this sunny fall day cleaning up Dierkes Lake.
Divers from Boise and Twin Falls brought out more than a dozen bags of trash, plus a 55 gallon barrel.
It's been four years since the Riverat Dive Team cleaned up the lake, but they're making up for lost time.
Paul Melni, Riverat Dive Team says, "a lot of people don't realize how much trash collects on the bottom of lakes, they don't realize that, because they're not conscious of it. And it's nice to clean up that bottom area and let people see that we're taking care of the lake and fish and what not."
The next clean–up will be next weekend as volunteers plan to clean up the back side near the rock wall.
