Sealing Project Between Hailey And Ketchum Beginning Monday

Hailey, Idaho - Crews will return to Idaho 75 between Hailey and Ketchum to complete a 2011 paving project, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. They will apply a micro-seal, beginning Monday July 30, to protect the roadway surface on a section of the highway that was paved last fall.
A micro-seal is similar to a seal coat, but the materials are premixed and placed on the roadway as slurry. Traffic can drive on the product after it has cured, generally in a few hours. The micro-seal, which offers the same benefits of a seal coat but without loose gravel, often is used in high-traffic areas.
The only area that will not receive the micro-seal is between East Fork Road north to the Big Wood River Bridge. It is scheduled to be reconstructed in 2013.
Depending on weather conditions, work will take place between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily. Work should be completed within two weeks. Drivers should watch for lane restrictions, flaggers and delays throughout the project zone.
Detours onto McKercher Boulevard and Buttercup Road north of Hailey and between Serenade Lane and River Street may be used.
